What we collect

To calculate a chart: your name, birth date, birth time, birth place and, if you choose, sex at birth (used only for BaZi luck pillars). If you create an account: your email address. If you answer the daily questions while signed in: your answers. If you open a weekly or monthly edition: the edition, so it stays in your library. Whether you want edition emails. How the site is used: which pages and sections are opened and which buttons are selected, recorded by us alone, without cookies, without your IP address and without any advertising or analytics company, so we can see what helps and what doesn't; these records are deleted after six months. If you subscribe: Stripe handles your payment details; we never see or store card numbers.

If you use compatibility, you enter another person's birth details. Only do so with their permission; we treat and protect their details exactly like yours.

How we protect it

Birth details, names, calculated charts, email addresses, your answers and your editions are encrypted before they are stored. Sign-in uses single-use email links and codes instead of passwords, and we store only hashes of sign-in links and sessions. If you choose to continue with Google, Google confirms only your email address to us and we receive nothing else from your Google account; it opens the same account the email code would. All traffic is encrypted in transit.

How long we keep it

Charts calculated without an account are deleted after 30 days. Charts saved to your account are kept until you delete them or your account. You can delete a chart from its calculations page, and your whole account from your account menu; deletion is immediate and permanent. Records of payments are kept by Stripe and in our accounts for as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to seven years; they contain no birth details.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Calyber, such as hosting, payments, email delivery and the generation of written readings. Birth-place search runs on our own server, so the place you type is never sent to anyone else. They process information only to provide those services to us. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Why we use it

We use your information to provide the service you ask for (calculating and saving your chart, writing readings and editions, telling you by email when a new edition is ready unless you turn that off, running your membership), to keep the service secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Where the law asks for a legal basis (for example in the EU and UK): we process your information to perform our agreement with you (your chart, readings, editions and membership), on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping Calyber secure and improving it, and to comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting. Edition emails are part of the service you signed up for, and you can turn them off at any time from your library or the link in each email.

Your rights

You can access and download your data (Account, then Download my data), correct it by recalculating a chart, delete any chart or your whole account, and object to or ask us to restrict processing. You can use the free chart without an account. If you are in the EU, UK or a US state with privacy laws, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. Contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

International transfers

Calyber and some of its service providers operate in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Children

Calyber is for adults. Accounts are for people 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes and contact

We will post changes here and update the date above. Calyber is operated by Neural Flow Dynamics LLC, 238 Hillandale Drive, Bloomingdale, IL 60108, United States. Questions: [email protected].

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some preferences, and your answers when you are not signed in, are kept in your own browser's storage.
